“The Battle with Mr. Covey”
In the passage “The Battle with Mr. Covey” it is just what the title is there is nothing else to it that the main focus. It tells us about the f=fight between a slave and a Master. It also takes us back to slavery time and shows us the ways that the slaves ware traded and how did could not do nothing to defend them selves. It also give us an example of the methods that they would use to beat the slaves. For instance in one we read that they would work them form sun up till sun down Mondays throw Saturday. Even the longest days ware short and the short night ware to long this is telling us that if Mr. Covey could he would work them day and night.
To make matter worse if you ware dyeing he would not give you a break or let you have that day off he would just kick you and told you to get back to work. As shown is this passage told by a slave. “Around three o'clock of that day, he slave broke down of strength falling he was seized with a violent aching of the head, attended with extreme dizziness; he trembled in every limb the slave master Mr. Covey was at the house, about one hundred yards from the treading- yard where the slaves were fanning. On hearing the fan stop, he left immediately, and came to the spot where the slaves were. He hastily enquired what the matter was. Bill (one of the slaves) answered that another slave was sick, and there was no one to bring wheat to the fan. The sick slave had by this time crawled away under the side of the post and rail- fence by which the yard was enclosed, hoping that he would found relief by getting out of the sun. Then the salve master asked where was the sick slave was. Bill told him by one of the hands. He came to the spot, and after looking at sick slave awhile, asked him what the matter was. He responded as well as he could, for he hardly had strength to speak. He then gave the slave a savage kick in the side, and told him to get up. He tried to do so, but fell back in the attempt. He gave me another kick, and again told the slave to rise. He then again tried, and succeeded in gaining own his feet but, stopping to get the tub with which he was feeding the fan, he again staggered and fell. While down in this situation, Mr. Covey took up the hickory slat with which Hughes had been striking off the half- bushel measure, and with it gave the slave a heavy blow upon the head, making a large wound, and the blood ran freely; and with this, again told me to get up. This is an example that they gave in the passage that show how bad the salve owner ware and they did not care for the sake of one they just wanted to gets his money worth of him because he new that he was not going to come bake the fallowing year.”
Also another way that this shows Realism because they give sow much details in how he was running in to the woods and giving us sow much detail that it gave us a clear image of what was the slave went throw this is what the passage said (after the slave gets beaten and run off into the wood he past, through bogs and briers, barefooted and bareheaded, tearing his feet sometimes at nearly every step he took and after a journey of about seven miles, occupying some five hours to perform it the guy got to his master to tell him what Ms Covey was doing but all he got was a go back and best luck because you are his for the rest of the year.) This show how now one would care if a slave was kill or not.
The social issue is showing us how bad slavery that one should be respected no matter there skin color. They are humans and they have to take a rest sow that they can work. It all so show us that if one person see that one is taking advantage of its power they should put a stop to it because they would not like to be treated that way.

Dark Romanticism
Original Sin is when you ware judge sins you ware born and that God hated you for who you ware and that no matter what you do you will be consider a sin.
The Transcendentalist felt that every one had a chance to prove them selves and show that they ware part of god and that god had given then the chance to solve problems.
1 From the way I feel is that I consider my self as a Transcendentalist. Some of the reasons are because I got to chose to not be a sin person and by not hanging dogs for dome reasons of witch craft because I don’t believe in that stuff and for shore that I would not kill a man. To me that just what people do that are close minded and don’t see that all people are different and they all ware given the chance of God to express them self the way that they want to.
In the work of Edgar Allan Poe in the story “the Mask of the Red Death” seem that this Mr. Allan had all this money and the fortune of being what they ware that they thought that nothing could happen that they had there life paid for and in other words that never thought that at there own celebration they would see death in the eye. Another is the way that he had the chambers decorated and the size of the chamber all so that there was seven rooms and that seven is and odd. By being a odd number is an negative energy and all of the bad things happen in the seven.
The main thing that stood to me was the ebony clock. This image stood in my head as if the clock was letting them know that every hour that pass the Red Death was getting closer and that every hour that pass the chiming of the clock was longer with more insanity and nervures because every thing got quiet even the musicians would stop playing in a moment of silent every thing would go throw there minds as time pass know one would expect the uninvited guest.
The Transcendentalist believe that the voice of God was in the head of one and by that in the Dark Romantic think that there is no way
way that nature can be good since that they see nature in a negative way as a dark nature that is way in there writings they would use negative picture or dark pictures and dark colors nothing would be bright. As in the passage of the "The Masque of Red Death” they use a dark red color and there was no source of light only the one of the fire and that at 12 at night is like the darkness time of the night. They also use dark images like Satan, devils, and ghost. The total opposite of Transcendental because they would use nature as to related to them self.

In the poem The Raven Mr. Edgar Allan wrote he had a black bird that flew in to his chamber door and was tapping and rapping on it. When he finally had the courage to open the door there was no one. By then the tapping and rapping had move to the window and the did not know who it was sow he thought that it was wind. When he open the window to see the raven flew in. When he found out who it was he started to have a conversation with the raven he started to ask him for his name like if the raven would answer him he ask the raven to just live him because he thought that the raven was bringing him bad news.
The words that stood out more to me were “Never More, Rapping and Tapping, Raven, chamber door. These words stood out to me because he uses them in almost stanza. The tapping and rapping meant that some one or some thing was at the door or window. He use them sow repeatedly as if he was nervous and could not stop thinking of the tapping and rapping. The other word that he uses is Never More and similar to phrases at the end of stanzas he would give a second and then would go back to the poem this to me is like some thing that he uses to grab your attention as to pull you back into the poem.
In Transcendentalism they focus more in the goodness of people and the God would speak to them and in The Raven Mr. Edgar though that the his story would have to be like a bad omen because he uses the night to show the darkness and a black bird to be consider a diabolic creature.
